WINCHESTER Folk Club has celebrated the end of its second season by launching a CD.

House Guests contains a wide selection of songs from 13 local acts that have all performed at the club – held on the first Wednesday of every month – the proceeds of which will go towards children’s hospice Naomi House.

Folk club member John Price said: “For the past year the folk club has gathered at the Railway Inn on the first Wednesday of every month and at the Hyde Tavern on the third Wednesday of every month.

At every session locals have been treated to a relaxed evening of live acoustic music from talent drawn from Winchester and occasionally further afield.

“The CD captures not only the high standard of musicianship, but also the quality of the songwriting by our own performers.”

The CD can be bought for £5 at The Naomi House shop in St George’s St, The Hyde Tavern and Haywards Guitars.
