SOUTHAMPTON’S premier one day, alternative rock music event, Takedown Festival, returns to Southampton University on Saturday, March 7.

Now in its sixth year (the fourth at Southampton University Student Union complex) the festival has grown year by year to become an unmissable date in the UK’s alternative festival season diary, hotly anticipated by UK bands and festival-goers alike.

Headliners will be Mallory Knox – no strangers to Takedown, who have been attracting worldwide attention with many festival appearances in 2014, an early 2015 support slot on the Pierce the Veil and Sleeping With Sirens World Tour.

Their second studio album Asymmetry gained much acclaim and the band is regularly on Radio 1’s play list.

Charlie Simpson is perhaps better known as the voice of Busted and Fightstar but Takedown will see him attending with his solo project.

Merthyr boys The Blackout have called it a day after a ten-year music career but not before embarking on one last UK tour in March and one last jaunt at Takedown, their last south coast appearance ever.

Other bands appearing at Takedown 2015 include INme (performing the entirety of their 2001 debut Overgrown Eden), Heart of a Coward, Arcane Roots, Baby Godzilla, Bleed From Within, Devil Sold His Soul, Fearless Vampire Killers (curating the Obsidian Stage), Decade and Moose Blood along with nearly 40 other bands, including local bands Creeper, Our Hollow Our Home, Dendera, DEAD, Circle of Reason, and Gone By Tomorrow.
