RISING star Camilla Kerslake will be Russell Watson’s special guest at his one-off charity concert at Beaulieu this summer.

The singer, hotly tipped by Take That’s Gary Barlow, is currently riding high with her debut self titled album nominated for Album of the Year at the Classical Brits.

She told Scene South: “It’s been a wonderful time for me and to be performing with someone like Russell, who has brought classical music to so many people, is just incredible and the charity element makes it even better.

“I’m so lucky, I’m just a girl who stalked Gary Barlow for ages! And now I’ve sung at Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles and to 90,000 at Wembley, at the Monaco Grand Prix and at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as having my album nominated for a Classical Brit.

“You are what you dare I always say.”

The concert, on July 31, is in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign following the illness that took Russell away from the music scene for many months.

Now fully fit to perform again, the multi-platinum selling singer had taken time away from the spotlight after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

As part of his come-back tour, he agreed to perform at the special picnic concert, which is called That Glorious Noise and will be hosted by actor, writer and former Dr Who, Colin Baker.

Musical accompaniment will be provided by The Sound Power Orchestra.

Tickets are £27.50 from ticketsouth.co.uk.
