INDIE-ROCKERS The Vaccines hit Southampton next week in support of their top-five selling debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?

Formed in 2010, the London-based four-piece has encountered almost overnight success, rising from obscurity to fame in little over a year and cementing their status by being named No. 1 Band of the Weekend by NME Magazine at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival.

The Brit Award nominees cite influences as everything from 50s rock ’n’ roll and 60s girl groups to 80s American hardcore and ‘good pop music’, mixing inspirations in a way that manages to be as catchy as it is classic. Album favourites such as singles Nørgaard and Post Break-Up Sex will feature in a show that, despite being relatively mellow compared to its rock genre counterparts, create a crowd-pleasing performance filled with sing-along moments.

• The Vaccines play Southampton Guildhall on Monday. Tickets: 023 8063 2601 or visit livenation.co.uk/southampton.
