HAMPSHIRE schoolgirl singing sensation Birdy has been back in town – to present her mentor with a gold disc.
The 16-year-old is pictured giving Gareth Henderson, owners of River Studios in Totton , a UK gold record status award from Atlantic Records for his contribution to her recent self-titled debut album.
Birdy began recording with Gareth when she was 12 after winning the UK Idol (Open Mic) competition.
The voice recording from Without a Word, the only self-penned track on the album due to the demands of her GCSEs, was recorded with Gareth last year.
Birdy – real name Jasmine van den Bogaerde – told Your Entertainment: “Gareth always knows how to get the best out of my voice.
Both his lessons and recording sessions are fun and inspirational.”
