ANTON Du Beke and Erin Boag from Strictly Come Dancing delighted a packed pavilion with a thoroughly entertaining show.

Backed by the rich 25-piece London Concert Orchestra with some terrific arrangements, and six consummate young dancers, Anton and Erin owned the stage with some expert moves.

Their personalities sparkle like their costumes with colourful professionalism.

Among the many dance highlights were their elegant waltz on True Love, their cheeky Charleston on Varsity Rag and Anton’s menacing storytelling on a tremendous tango.

Guesting on lead vocals is Lance Ellington, also from Strictly and the son of legendary bandleader Ray Ellington.

Lance’s smooth and soulful voice excels on the powerful ballad What Kind Of Fool Am I? and the quirky That’s Jazz, in which he also plays trombone.

Developing into the outstanding highlight of a wonderful show is Anton and Erin’s unscripted audience question-and-answer segment: “What were Anton’s previous jobs?”

“Baker... and bed salesman!”

Anton du Beke is a natural comedian in this situation – irreverent, improvisatory and hilarious. He exudes charisma, can get a laugh with just a mischievous raised eyebrow and has spot-on comic timing. Even the musicians were chuckling.

After a dynamic finale the welldeserved encore was a scintillating quickstep to It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.
