SAINTS footballers swapped their football kits for this season’s key fashion items at WestQuay’s Quay Couture event last night.

Manager Jan Poortvliet was joined on stage by a number of first team players including Andrew Surman, Kelvin Davis and Jack Cork, to model outfits from the shopping centres retailers.

Jack had plenty to smile about as yesterday he received his England U-21 call-up.

The event held at the City Cruise Terminal was in aid of Wessex Cancer Trust. More than 500 people, including former Saints star Francis Benali, turned out to enjoy the show.

Guests were pampered in the indulgence lounge upon arrival where a number of WestQuay retailers offered everything from massages and chocolate tasting to fashion displays.

The night’s comperes, BBC South Today presenters Sally Taylor and Roger Johnson then took to the stage, introducing the two fashion shows which highlighted a fantastic selection of Christmas party wear, winter wedding and holiday options, as well as outfits for the office for both men and women.

The Saints players were also joined on the catwalk by two special Wessex Cancer Trust models, who have both been affected by cancer – Matt Arding and Diana Harvey – along with Daily Echo competition winners and professional models.

All proceeds from the night went to Wessex Cancer Trust.
