IN THE middle of the woods, in the middle of the night, strange things were happening as Blag It!
presented their horror-themed panto.
A homage to the classic tonguein- cheek horror films, there were some delightful touches, incorporating features of early silent films to the slightly camp excesses of Hammer in the 1960s – all technicolour costumes and much swishing of cloaks.
Rumbustious in flavour and adult in tone, the production was briskly paced, exactly matching the expectations of its audience.
The dream sequences of Theresa Ferguson (Swift Square), as she envisaged herself as leading lady, were nicely done, with the recreation of a Marilyn Monroe musical number a real hoot.
The cast threw themselves into the proceedings with their usual enthusiastic abandon.
Special mention should go to Maria Hutchings (Starling Street) for literally throwing herself around the stage.
