THE classic tale of the little boy who refused to grow up was entertainingly adapted in Stepping Out’s new production.

Director Alick Leech and artistic director/producer/choreographer Caroline Perrett crafted a handsomely staged show with impressive sets and a good use of music, lighting and digital images.

The show moved at a fine pace and generally flowed well, although there were occasional slightly awkward pauses between scenes.

The cast worked well together and their enthusiasm and dedication was palpable.

Toby Walker (Peter) had a beautiful clear voice and was highly effective in the role. Elena Beckett-Oxenham (Wendy) and Emily Rogers (Tinkerbell) made an impression and the latter’s high wire skills were to be admired.

Of the adults, Sammy Porter (Smee) and Kelly Bedford (Nanny Nora) were great fun, while Graham Barnes made an excellent baddie as Captain Hook.
