DO we control technology or does technology control us? That is the theme of the five-star West End show Golem, coming to Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) next week.
Like a giant graphic novel burst into life, Golem is a dystopian fable for the 21st century, cleverly blending live acting with pre-recorded animation – a dazzling theatrical treat, quite unlike anything you have seen before from one of the UK’s most exciting new theatre companies 1927.
Golem, a clay man brought to life on stage through animation, is designed to obey, to help and to assist everything its owner commands. But when Golem falls under the control of a faceless corporation, it’s mind is overtaken. It begins spying on it owners, slowly taking control of their behaviour, shopping habits and even the way they dress...
Golem runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
