THE fabulous characters from Ian Fleming’s fantasmagorical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are brought to life in spectacular style in this wonderful summer holiday production.

Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre was buzzing with excitement as a near sell-out crowd watched in wonder as the fine four-fendered friend flew into the air.

The production is based on the 1968 film version and is Truly Scrumptious in every way.

It was a feast for the senses as stunning scenery, colourful costumes and lively songs all came together to make a memorable night out for all the family.

Eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, with the help of children Jeremy and Jemima, restore an old race car, only to discover it is has magical powers.

The show had a pantomime-style energy about it as children booed the evil Baron Bomburst and the horrible Child Catcher.

The many youngsters on stage put in energetic and enthusiastic performances and the appearance of real dogs was the icing on the cake for the younger members of the audience.

The Bournemouth and Boscombe Light Opera Company blew audiences away last year with their high-energy production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, making us wonder if they could pull it off again.

It was always going to be a hard act to follow but BBLOC have done it again with this incredible family-friendly show.

This is a perfect finale to the long summer holiday so grab a ticket while you can.

There are a total of nine shows with the run coming to an end on Sunday night.
