HAMPSHIRE businesses could be owed £225m in tax break windfalls, a tax expert has claimed.
Portal Tax Claims, which specialises in capital allowances, estimates more than 6,000 small or mediumsized companies are eligible for a tax rebate under government rules for businesses owning commercial property.
Up to 90 per cent of the county’s commercial buildings could qualify for tax breaks.
Managing director Shaun Murphy said: “Businesses in Hampshire are missing a trick as far as capital allowances are concerned.
“Our research shows that many firms are failing to take their business premises into account and that each property potentially contains thousands of claimable items.”
