FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man who became stuck on his roof last night after some DIY work.
The man in his 30s had been fixing the roof of his two-storey house when he became stuck on a ledge in the sub zero temperatures.
A crew from Redbridge fire station in Southampton received the 999 call just after 7.30pm.
Firefighter Steve White from Redbridge said they helped the man down from the home in Grove Road, Shirley.
He said: “It wasn't something that took long, it was just a case of helping him down but I would imagine he was grateful for the assistance.”
