Police sealed off a house in Southampton after the body of a woman was found inside.
Emergency services went to the house in Bitterne following the discovery of the body.
Officers sealed off the property in Whites Road yesterday while further investigations were carried out.
Police initially thought the death may have been suspicious but today have revealed that is no longer the case.
The dead woman is a 43-year-old French woman named Isabelle Mareuge.
She was staying with a relative who was not at home at the time of the death.
Today residents spoke of their shock at the death.
One neighbour, who did not want named, said: "We saw the blue flashing lights but did not think anything of it a first because there is a police station just up the road.
"Then stopped outside and there was quite an intense police presence, so we knew that something quite serious had happened - it was all a bit scary.
"I did not really know her but she was a young woman, so it's very sad."
Circumstances surrounding the death have not been revealed and details have been passed to the coroner who will now hold an inquest.
