A gang threatened a man with a knife during an attempted robbery in Southampton.
Police are hunting a group of four men, who allegedly demanded property from a 22-year-old man as he walked along New Road, near Palmerston Park.
The victim, from London, told police that he was approached by the men as he walked back to his city hotel, between 12.30am and 1am on Sunday February 3.
The man refused to hand over any of his belongings and walked away from the alleged offenders unharmed.
Detectives said that the man brandishing the knife was in his early 20s, of mixed race, 6ft tall and of slim build.
He had short black, possibly shaved hair.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
