CELEBRITY chef James Martin returned to the luxury Hampshire hotel where he worked before becoming a household name.
The Yorkshire-born presenter of Saturday Kitchen visited the fivestar Chewton Glen near New Milton to host a cookery demonstration, followed by a three-course lunch.
James, who has lived and worked in Hampshire for almost two decades, was reunited with one of his former colleagues.
Luke Matthews, Chewton Glen’s executive head chef, is celebrating his 20th anniversary at the award-winning establishment.
A hotel spokesman said: “James used to be our pastry chef and has kept in touch, coming back at regular intervals to give demonstrations.
“His latest visit coincided with Luke’s 20th anniversary, which was a nice gesture.”
Highlighting the success of the event the spokesman added: “Judging by the applause I heard, everyone was very happy.”
