THE Stockbridge Can-go bus now can't go. It has been replaced by a a taxi.
A lack of customers has persuaded county council chiefs to change the system. All residents in Stockbridge, Kings Somborne and Houghton, can travel to Romsey using the new taxi share service.
The pre-booked service operates three days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays taking people into Romsey and costs around the same as the Congo fare - £2.60 single and £4.40 return.
The taxi will arrive in Romsey for 10am to return at 12.30pm. Passengers can be picked-up from home and can be dropped off at either the bus station, the doctor's surgery on Alma Road or Waitrose in the centre.
