A TALENTED student band has won the Solent Sound Music Festival.

The band, The Arrivals, from Fareham College, consisting of Dan Surridge-Smith, Jack Collins, Jack Kelly and Harry Adams, beat 12 other competitors and scooped the top prize of playing with the Reverend and the Makers at their gig at Southampton Guildhall.

It is the second year in a row that a band from the college has won.

The annual Solent Sound Music Festival is run by Southampton Solent University to seek new musicians from across Hampshire and the south coast.

The band was provided with industry-standard facilities by the college and other media students photographed and filmed the event, writing blog articles throughout the different stages of the competition.
