Two lifeboats went to the aid of a 57ft yacht that was left stranded in the Solent after suffering engine failure.
The Lymington and Yarmouth crews were called out in sub-zero temperatures after the yacht was battered by 50-knot winds off Cowes.
A Lymington lifeboatman went aboard and arranged for the vessel to be towed to safety by the Yarmouth crew.
Those aboard the yacht included two photographers who had gone out to get shots of snow falling on the stormy sea.
