A pensioner fled when a fire broke out in his Southampton home today.
The 67-year-old suffered smoke inhalation as he escaped the blaze in Cobden Rise, Bitterne Park.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire which happened in a ground floor bathroom.
The flames were out by the time two crews from St Mary’s fire station arrive.
The pensioner was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics at the scene but did not need hospital treatment.
