A HAMPSHIRE newlywed is desperately trying to find his wedding ring which he lost while playing football.

Craig Peake and his wife Karen were left devastated when they realised the ring had fallen off during his match for Bursledon Football Team, at Greta Park in Hedge End.

The couple, who got married last May in Cuba, had the titanium rings specially made and are engraved with the date of their wedding in Roman numerals.

Karen said: “It is not of any value to anyone as it is titanium but it has so much emotional attachment.

“We can’t go back to the beach and say our vows so it won’t be the same ring if we replace it.

“I am so upset, this may be the only way of finding it.”

They are appealing to anyone who may have found it and picked it up from the muddy pitch to get in touch.

The ring was lost during the match on the morning of March 3.
