RESIDENTS of a Southampton estate will have their say on how they want to see £50,000 spent in their community.

NHS Southampton City has again stumped up tens of thousands of pounds to help improve the health and wellbeing of people in Thornhill.

The Your Health, Your Community, Your Vote event is returning to Thornhill Baptist Church today, where residents will choose who they want to give funding to.

Applicants, including notfor- profit organisations and community groups, will be given the chance to present their project ideas along with details of how much funding they require from the kitty.

Each group will have three minutes to stake their claim for the cash to an audience, before the votes are cast.

More than £500,000 has already been dished out to groups across the estate since the project started in 2008.

The event, which is run by the Thornhill Community Health Group in conjunction with Plus You Limited and Southampton City Council, will run from 2pm until 5pm.

Registration opens at 1pm and will close at 2pm sharp.
