A thief wearing a football kit was spotted breaking into a car in the New Forest.
It happened after a 53-year-old Lymington woman parked her blue Volkswagen Golf by St Nicholas' Church, Brockenhurst.
When she returned 30 minutes later, she found the front passenger window smashed and saw that the car had been entered and searched.
Nothing was taken, and police believe that the suspect may have been disturbed by a witness.
The suspect was described as a man of athletic build who was 5ft 10ins tall with short brown hair.
He wore what police may have been a football kit: a navy blue top and shorts and navy blue socks with a red band around the top.
Police also would like to identify the female driver of a silver Peugeot 206, which may be connected to the incident at about 3pm Sunday, March 17,
Anyone with information should contact PC Adrian Jones at Hampshire Police's Lyndhurst Vehicle Crime Unit on 101.
