One man died and another is fighting for his life after a crash in Hampshire today.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses folowing he accident early this morning.

It happened when a dark grey Volkswagen Bora crashed into a tree at 6.10am.

The 41-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene in Queens Avenue, Aldershot.

The 24-year-old male passenger received life threatening head injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.

A 31-year-old female passenger also received injuries which are not believed to be serious at this time.

The road was closed for around four-and-a-half hours to allow forensic enquiries to take place.
