Dozens of firefighters battled a major blaze at a Hampshire cottage today.
Crews from stations from across the county were called to the scene this morning.
The road leading to the thatched cottage at Claypits Lane, Dibden, was sealed off as firefighters tackled the ferocious blaze.
Crews from Brockenhurst, St Marys, Eastleigh, Totton and Lymington used foam jets to tackle to blaze which started in the chimney of the property.
The elderly owner escaped unharmed and was checked for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Claypits Lane remained closed for a number of hours as crews fought to bring the fire under control.
