A DRIVER has been rescued from his cab this morning after a lorry tipped on to its side on a busy Hampshire roundabout.

Fire-fighters and ambulances are on the scene after the truck came off the Rushtington Roundabout in Totton after about 10am this morning.

The roundabout may have to be closed while recovery of the vehicle takes place, emergency services have said.

The accident happened on part of the diversion route for a major set of roadworks currently taking place at nearby Redbridge roundabout.

Fire crews freed the driver using specialist cutting equipment.
