THE number of women under 50 diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the South East has reached 1,300.
The figure for the whole of the UK has topped 10,000 for the first time, meaning that one in five breast cancer cases are in women younger than 50.
But Cancer Research UK says that fewer women under 50 than ever before are dying from the disease, largely because of better treatment thanks to research.
