POLICE have moved on travellers who had set up camp on a site in Hedge End.
Officers issued the group with a Section 61 order to leave the area after what police called a “large encampment” moved onto land next to the car park of a pub, at Cunningham Gardens.
Initial reports said that there were six to seven caravans which had arrived on Thursday but following the order being issued the travellers had all left by 10.30pm on Friday.
Piles of rubble appeared in the locality and there were reports that someone had been urinating next to a business, police said.
