THE Krazy Kat Theatre company brings The Waving Cat of Japan to Winchester Discovery Centre on Sunday, in a show that combines puppetry with mime, dance, song and sign language arts.

The Waving Cat of Japan is a traditional Japanese Bunraku puppet-style theatrical fantasy, telling the story of Maneki Neko, the Japanese catshaped figurine that is said to bring good luck.

Audiences will see Maneki Neko’s attempt to overcome a tropical storm, a wicked Sorceress, a not so smart Prince and tricky tasks to perform before midnight, in a fast moving, funny show that is suitable for children aged three upwards and their family and friends.

The show is playing at The Discovery Centre as part of the Families Sunday Series, at 11am and 2pm.
