Ian Brown took to the red carpet in Manchester at the premiere of his film Made Of Stone.
The Stone Roses frontman was joined by bandmates Mani and John Squire and the film's director Shane Meadows.
But The Sun reported that drummer Reni stayed at home sick, recovering for next week's London gigs.
The film charts the band's comeback and is lead by This Is England director Shane, who had unlimited access to their activities from the 2011 reunion announcement to last summer's Heaton Park gigs.
Only John spoke on the red carpet, although Mani directed a toy elephant towards microphones.
John said: "We're not going to record a whole album. We'll do it like we did the first record - go in there when we're ready to do it."
The documentary's premiere was held at The Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.
Shane said: "You only have to look at the film and see the kids that were at the gigs. There were plenty of people who weren't even born when they made that first album - so it's already happening."
The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone is released on June 5.
