HEROES, villains and swordfights!

The Nuffield Youth Theatre brings a trio of classic adventurers to life in a swashbuckling adaptation of The Three Musketeers – where it is definitely going to be ‘all for one and one for all!’ The raucous adaptation by Shaun Prendergast of the French story is full of the classic elements of any great adventure story. A plot to overthrow the king causes turmoil in 17th century France, with the Three Musketeers (all a bit past their sell-by date) creating havoc wherever they go. A young man arrives from Gascony, in search of adventure, romance, and more street cred, and becomes determined to save his country. He unites the Musketeers, saves the king and, of course, attempts to win a fair lady’s heart while he’s at it.

Director Max Lindsay has added to the spectacle by using real swords in the production, bringing in legendary fight director Paul Benzing, who choreographs fights all over the country for the National Theatre, Old Vic and RSC among others.

The Three Musketeers will play The Nuffield’s Main House from Thursday to Saturday.
