FULLY costumed re-enactors will take Hurst Castle by storm this weekend to show visitors what life was really like in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Tudor and Stuart crafts and skills such as lace-making, spinning, netmaking, weaving and dyeing will be demonstrated among other things – and a typical meal will be prepared, cooked and served.
The two day family event has been organised jointly by Hurst Castle and St Barbe Museum in Lymington as part of the Museum’s special historic theme for the year: The Story of our Coast: Fact, Fiction and Fantasy.
