A TEAM of ambulance workers are taking on the ultimate climbing challenge to ensure Hampshire’s air ambulance is able to save more lives.

Not content with saving lives at work, the team from South Central Ambulance Service are taking on the three peaks challenge to raise money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Dubbed South East 24 (SE24), the team of 15 will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in less than 24 hours, starting on June 5.

Ross Smith, team leader, said: “The guys on SE24 are totally focussed and working excellently as a team so completing this challenge is well within our abilities.

“The walkers are all working hard on their fitness, with gym work, running and dieting so for the walkers the challenge should be hard work, but achievable.”
