A £250,000 WATER fun park has opened this weekend.

The Gosport Splash Park at Stokes Bay will be open to the public from today after being official opened by the Mayor of Gosport Cllr John Beavis.

The park, which is free for children to use, has a mix of more traditional play equipment, a water play area with water jets and sensory play equipment and there is also a dry area with a wooden climbing frame.

The park will be open all year round until dusk each day, with the water features open from 1 April to 30 September.

The facility replaces an open air paddling pool on the same site that had not been used for a number of years.

Health visitors and school nurses from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust provided free information and advice on how to keep safe in the sun as well giving away free sunhats and stickers to children throughout the day.
