MORE children than ever are tucking into school dinners in Hampshire, figures show.
The county council’s catering service dished up 7.4 million meals in 2012-13, up eight per cent on the previous year.
With four out of ten primary school children now eating school meals five days per week, this is the highest figure recorded by the service.
The price of a two-course meal has been frozen at £2 for the last four years. The service still manages to make a profit and is not subsidised by the county council.
