THE story of three friends in small town America who conjure up more than they bargained for with the devilish Darryl Van Horne, this is a show that promises a touch of magic.

Director Gemma Watts seems to have sprinkled the magic dust quite successfully.

Although beset by first night glitches, including some clumsy scene changes, this was a stunningly conceived and stunning looking show with an amazing set and lighting effects.

Inventive choreography and sparkling delivery made the production numbers highlights of the show.

The performances, characterisation and singing were uniformly first rate. Lauren Caffyn made a bold impression as the hectoring Felicia. The three leading ladies, Holly Brogden (Alexandra), Imogen Johnson (Jane) and Sarah Tanner (Sukie), gave performances of nuance and wit. As Darryl Van Horne, Tim Harris displayed a charm and charisma worthy of the character.

Magic.
