A HAMPSHIRE-based rubber firm has moved headquarters after expanding.

Delta Rubber Limited, which was based in New Milton, has relocated to Christchurch, Dorset.

The move will allow the firm, which specialises in product ranges from rubber extrusions and seals to electrical safety matting, to treble its capacity.

It started life in director Martin Bailey’s dining room in April 2007.

Armed with a computer, a fax machine, and a phone, Mr Bailey put in the ground work which has culminated in recent success.

The turnover for year one was £80,000, which was risen steadily with roughly 30 per cent a year growth over the past three years.

Turnover in 2012 topped £550,000 and a 20 per cent growth is expected this year.

Co-director Jon Fisher said: “It’s hard to find your place in the market when you’re competing against well established, national businesses.

“It’s been a long process but we’ve always had a plan that we knew would work. In the last few years everything began to fall into place and we’re continually expanding our workforce to keep pace. We’ve just outgrown our New Milton premises and are intent on growing further, hence we are relocating to our new Christchurch facility.

“Our current workforce consists of Martin and I, a further three full-time employees, part-time accounts, and we outsource our website design and search engine optimisation to a local company who are part of the team too and by investing in our website we have developed new clients and been able to tap into online sales.”

“We work hard and are highly experienced, coupled with that we always put the customer first. Our combined expertise in rubber and engineering coupled with 70-odd years of experience between us means there is not much we haven’t seen or can’t tackle.”
