Cyclist involved in crash with lorry
A CYCLIST has sustained serious injuries in a crash.
The collision between the cyclist and a lorry happened on the main Gosport Road, near the junction with Newgate Lane, in Fareham.
The cyclist, a middle-aged woman, received serious injuries in the incident, at 11.50am this morning.
South Central Ambulance Service said they had treated a woman in her 50s for a life threatening head injury.
She was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.
Newgate Lane is closed both ways between the A32 Gosport Road / Elms Road and Longfield Avenue.
Diversions are being put in place, but police are warning drivers to expect delays and seek alternative routes where possible.
