THE family of a teenage boy left fighting for his life after taking a legal high remained at his bedside last night as his condition remained critical.
As reported by the Daily Echo, the 17-year-old from Southampton is in a medically-induced coma at Southampton General Hospital after swallowing the pill on Wednesday.
He was found collapsed in his bedroom by his mother, who called 999.
The boy had ordered the drug, known as alphamethyltryptamine (AMT), on the Internet and it was bought from Holland.
Police have urged people to heed the dangers of socalled legal highs, which can be deadly and have already claimed the lives of two men in Hampshire in the past year.
