Ponies and traffic in the New Forest
A NEW Forest pony was left to suffer in agony after a hit-and-run accident.
The grey filly broke a leg in the collision at Mogshade and had to be put down by one of the agisters.
The accident is thought to have occurred earlier that day or even the previous evening.
In a separate incident, a cow was seriously injured in a collision at Appleshade, near Red Shoot, and had to be destroyed.
Two accidents were reported on the B3078 and the B3079 near Bramshaw, but no injured animals were found.
