A HAMPSHIRE man has been arrested during demonstrations against fracking.

Police have confirmed that a 66-year-old man from Hythe was one of the 29 people arrested for a range of public order offences in Balcombe, West Sussex.

The majority of offences include refusing to leave and obstructing a public highway, and breaching the public order act.

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas was among those taken away by police outside the gates of energy firm Cuadrilla’s drilling site where hundreds have been demonstrating.
