Sherborne House School, Chandler's Ford, has officially opened the doors to its new block.
The Lakewood Road school celebrated the completion of the new development, comprising four new classrooms and a hall.
Head teacher Heather Hopson-Hill said: “2013 has been a landmark year for Sherborne House, being its 80th anniversary and the 100th birthday of the founder’s daughter, Miss Dorothy Wise.
“The new development marks the next chapter in the school’s history, and is a wonderful facility which will enable us to further develop the very best opportunities for our children.”
The new structure, which took nine months to build, was opened by local MP Steve Brine who cut the entrance ribbon in an assembly attended by children and parents, as well as guests from Eastleigh Borough Council.
Mr Brine said: “It’s always really hard to visualise a new build such as this and it was certainly so when I cut the first turf on a snowy day last November.
“This has turned into a stunning new building which, although brand new, looks as if it was always part of the school. Huge congratulations are owed to all involved in making this happen.”
