A Southampton man died from blood loss after accidentally cutting himself, an inquest heard.
Raymond Harvey, 85, sustained a long cut along his right leg while alone at his home in Canada Road, Sholing.
He tried to stop the bleeding and called an ambulance but had a heart attack and died shortly after arriving at Southampton General Hospital on November 20.
The inquest heard he was on medication for deep vein thrombosis that stopped his blood clotting, making any wound far more dangerous.
Coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict of accidental death.
