Police have launched an investigation after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash.
The emergency services were called to Highfield Avenue, Lymington, yesterday after the incident happened at the junction of Hillside Road.
The junction was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
A police spokesman said a 31-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident was helping police with their inquiries.
He said the pedestrian suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred just after 1pm.
The accident did not involve any of the students at nearby Priestlands School, but part of the pedestrian route normally taken by some of the pupils on their way home was sealed off during the police investigation.
Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
