PLANS have been announced to build a solar farm in a Hampshire village capable of supplying nearly 6,000 homes with electricity.
A public exhibition on the proposals at Michelmersh in the Test Valley will be held in the village on Tuesday.
Solar Planning is behind the scheme on farmland next to Michelmersh Wood on the northern outskirts of the village and the company says the proposed solar farm on the 88-acre site will not be permanent.
Around 67,000 solar panels are proposed on the site which is classified as Grade 3 agricultural land and Solar Planning officials say that the green energy scheme is for a 25-year period.
Residents will be able to view the proposals at the Jubilee on Tuesday between 3pm and 7pm during a public exhibition of the proposed scheme.
