MOTORISTS can expect delays on one Hampshire motorway this weekend.
Lane closures are in place on the M27 between junctions nine and 11 near Fareham for major bridge repairs.
Work started at 9pm last night to strengthen embankments supporting the River Meon bridge to maintain safety. It is scheduled to finish at 6am on Monday.
The hard shoulder and lane one will be closed throughout the works, with lane two also closed between 9pm-6am when traffic flows are lowest.
Highways Agency asset manager Philip Sheppard said: “We have planned the work to minimise disruption for road users and so will only close lanes where we have to.” Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
