A BRAZILIAN restaurant is set to bring the carnival atmosphere from the streets of Rio to the heart of Southampton as Brazil face Colombia in the quarter-finals of the World Cup tonight.

More than 100 fans will wear the famous yellow shirts and flags and flock to Casa Brasil in Latimer Street, Southampton, for the quarter-final clash.

Their presence will turn the restaurant into a Brazilian outpost and the party atmosphere is set to top the scenes of wild celebration when Phil Scolari’s men beat Chile on penalties in the second round after an exciting 1-1 draw.

They will understandably be nervous as the hopes of Brazilians across the world are on the shoulders of the likes of Neymar, Hulk, Oscar and David Luiz.

Manager of Casa Brazil, Paulo Estiveira, believes the World Cup has been brilliant for business, and said that more than a 120 people have booked seats at the restaurant to watch the game.

Even before the games kick off, staff at the restaurant get themselves in the carnival spirit by playing vuvuzelas, and having a kick-about on the street.

Paulo is confident that they will see a Brazilian victory, despite Colombia looking impressive in a four-match winning streak.

Even if Brazil don’t make it through, the restaurant will celebrate the final of the tournament on July 13 in style by holding a party, which will see a Brazilian band and carnival dancing and a raffle
