MORE than 100 people marched through Southampton to promote world peace.
As part of International Peace Day, around 120 people walked from the Peace Fountain in East Park through Palmerston Park and Houndwell Park singing peace songs.
Sharon Keenan, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great day and we had more than double our turnout from last year.
“It was a chance for local people to come together and make their own contribution to peace.”
International Peace Day is recognised by the United Nations and takes place on September 21.
