A man was found bleeding close to a supermarket car park in Gosport after he was the victim of a suspected assault over the weekend.

The man, in in his 20s, was discovered in Grange Road, Gosport, near the entrance to a Tesco car park, just before 6.30am yesterday.

Officers sealed off the area to carry out forensic searches in a bid to find out what happened to the man, who sustained serious injuries.

Police are looking into the possibility that he was attacked by a group.

They are appealing for witnesses to come forward and for residents to check their gardens and bins for any discarded property that doesn’t belong to them.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are said to not be life-threatening.
