‘No’ to lights extension bid
Civic chiefs have refused plans to extend the number of hours a Martyr Worthy house can keep its outdoor lights on.
An application was made for Lower Chilland House, in Lower Chilland Lane, to have their outdoor lights on until 11pm and 1am on “special occasions”.
At present planning conditions mean their pathway, pool, tennis court and home are lit up until 9pm.
But residents urged city councillors to deny the application, complaining the house already contributed too much light pollution.
